ZACHARY HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME

I. PURPOSE:

1. The Zachary High School Athletic Hall of Fame is an Athletic Hall of Fame to pay tribute to past Zachary High School and former Northwestern High School (1955-1970) athletic greats.

II. MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA:

1. Must have graduated at least five (5) years prior to being nominated.
2. Nomination should be based on outstanding high school athletic accomplishments. (Parish Honors; All-Tournament teams; All-District, All-State, All-America teams, etc.)
3. Newspaper articles or clippings will be accepted with the nomination form.
4. Nomination form must be on file before a nominee will be considered.
5. Nomination may include a deceased graduate.

III. SELECTION COMMITTEE:

1. The Athletic Director of Zachary High School will serve as chairperson of the Hall of Fame Committee, and a selected committee member will serve as vice-chairperson.
2. The Athletic Director of Zachary High School will appoint a Hall of Fame Committee.

IV. SELECTION PROCESS:

1. Two athletes from a pool of ZHS and NHS will be chosen for induction each year.
2. To be selected for induction, an athlete must receive at least 51% of the selection committee’s votes.
3. The committee will nominate athletes from a list of nominees who have met all qualifications.

V. INDUCTION AND AWARDS:

1. Induction will take place at a ceremony prior to a home game designated by the Athletic Director
2. Inductees will be presented with a plaque.
3. The name of the inductees will be inscribed on the Walk of Honor sign in front of Zachary High School.
4. The inductees’ picture will be permanently displayed at Zachary High School.
5. Inductees will be recognized at half-time of the Athletic Director identified home football game.
