Coach Johnny Nagle begins his 15th year as coach at ZHS. Johnny is a 1968 graduate of Gloster High School. He earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Health and PE, from Louisiana State University in 1972. His coaching career includes positions at Central High School (5 yrs), Nicholls State University (5 yrs), Texas State University (3yrs), McNeese State University (13 yrs) and Northwestern State University (7 yrs). Coach Nagle’s experience at ZHS includes 2 State Quarterfinals Appearances 2013 and 2020, 4 State Semifinal appearances in 2014, 2016, 2019 and 2022 and 4 State Championships Titles in 2015, 2017, 2018 & 2021. Coach Nagle has two sons: Slade, who is the Offensive Coordinator at Tulane University and Austin who lives and works in Lake Charles.
