Coach Matthew Zito begins his 6th year coaching at ZHS. He is in his 3rd season as our Defensive Coordinator. He was the Special Teams Coordinator for 2021 and 2022 and also coached the Defensive Line. Matthew graduated from Louisiana State University. Coach Zito's career has spanned over 12 years with positions at Plaquemine and Brusly. Coach Zito's experience has included 2 State Quarterfinal appearances and 1 State Semifinal appearance at Plaquemine High. At ZHS, he has 1 Quarterfinals appearance 2020, 1 Semifinal appearance 2022 , 1 State Runner-up in 2023 and 1 State Championship 2021. Coach Zito and his wife Tayler have three children: Olivia, Beau and Camille.Â
