Zachary High School is proud to recognize an incredible achievement by our basketball programs, as Jonathan McClinton and Tami McClure have both been named District 4-5A Coaches of the Year.

This honor comes after a historic season for both programs. Under their leadership, the boys and girls basketball teams each completed undefeated runs through district play, setting the tone for what would become unforgettable postseason journeys.

Both teams carried that momentum all the way to the top, finishing their seasons as state champions in their respective divisions. Their ability to prepare, motivate, and lead at the highest level was on full display from the first district game to the final buzzer of the championship.

Coach McClinton and Coach McClure have built cultures centered on discipline, toughness, and consistency—qualities that were evident every night on the court. Their teams not only competed, but dominated, representing Zachary with pride every step of the way.

To have both basketball programs go undefeated in district and win state titles in the same season is a remarkable accomplishment—and a direct reflection of the leadership at the top.
