Gallery: (3-2-2026) 2026 Girls Powerlifting Regional Meet
The girls powerlifting team delivered outstanding performances across two recent competitions, highlighted by multiple podium finishes and record-breaking lifts.
At the St. Amant meet on January 31, several lifters earned top-three finishes. Nilah Duhe and Gabby Anthony each captured first place, while Bailie Williams and Megan Roussell secured second-place finishes. Irie Brown added to the team's success with a third-place finish. Anthony was also named Most Outstanding Lifter of the meet. The event featured historic performances, as Duhe tied the bench press record at 170 pounds, set a new deadlift record with 360 pounds, and broke the total record with 865 pounds. Anthony also made her mark in the record books, setting new meet records in the squat (415 pounds), deadlift (365 pounds), and total (970 pounds).
The team continued its strong showing at the East Regional meet on February 28. Gabby Anthony and Megan Roussell each earned first-place finishes, while Nilah Duhe placed second. Anthony again delivered a record-setting performance, breaking the regional squat record with a lift of 450 pounds, surpassing the previous mark of 405, and setting a new total record with 1,055 pounds, eclipsing the former record of 985. She was once again named Most Outstanding Lifter.
