Milazzo played football for David Brewerton and baseball for Jesse Cassard and Jacob Fisher.  During his sophomore year on the gridiron as a QB and safety he helped the Broncos reach the 5A semifinals before locking into his passion on the baseball diamond.
On the diamond he was a feared catcher with a cannon arm that dared opposing teams to take a lead or heaven forbid, attempt to steal.  Milazzo was selected first team All District 4-5A and All State as a junior (2018) and as a senior (2019).  He was also the All Metro catcher in 2018 and 2019 when he was also named the District 4-5A MVP.  He was ranked as the No. 3 player in Louisiana's 2019 class by Prep Baseball Report, received a national ranking of No. 127 by Prep Baseball Report and No. 305 by Perfect Game.
Milazzo’s impact to ZHS baseball teams was immediate as he started his freshman season (2016) as the Broncos (22-12) advanced the second round of the 5A playoffs.  During Coach Fisher’s first year and Alex’s sophomore season they advanced to the semifinals (29-11).  As an upper classman in 2018 the Broncos had one of their best regular seasons in program history advancing to the quarterfinals and finishing 35-4.  His senior year the Broncos were 29-11 and advanced to the quarterfinals.  The Broncos won the District 4-5A baseball title four times during Milazzo’s tenure.  He left Zachary with a career batting average of 0.348 with 16 stolen bases, 3 home runs and 79 RBIs.
Milazzo signed with the LSU Tigers to play baseball and through his career played in 185 games with 125 starts.  Many remember the magical 2023 LSU season where Milazzo became the first ZHS baseball alum to play in and win a baseball National Championship at the College World Series.  During the College World Series, he played in 6 games with 5 starts including the last one when he memorably limped off the field a National Champion.  Returning to LSU in 2024 Milazzo was 24-7 in the 31 games he started as catcher and was named to the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional All-Tournament Team.  Milazzo also made the SEC Academic Honor Roll every year earning a bachelors in Sports Administration.
