Kristian Jackson competed in power lifting for Coach Jason Davis and Track and Field for Coach Chris Carrier. As a powerlifter she was the 2015 and 2016 regional champion where she earned 2016 outstanding lifter honors and was the state runner-up in both 2015 and 2016.
For the Track and Field program she insured that the Broncos had first place points in 2 events (discus and shot put) before most running events even began. She earned All State recognition in the shot put from her freshman through senior year and All State in the discus from her sophomore through her senior year. During that period, she won eight individual District 4-5A titles in the shot put and discus, four regional titles, and five individual state titles. She was named the 2018 Advocate Star of Stars Track and Field athlete of the year and garnered All Metro Track and Field in the shot put and discus in 2018 and 2017 when she was identified as the Outstanding Field Performer.
During Jackson’s four years the ZHS girls Track and Field team won 4-5A District Championships in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, 5A Region II championships in 2016 and 2018 and then there are all of those State Championships. Jackson is one of 2 female athletes to win 6 team State Track and Field Champions. She was a critical component of the Indoor and Outdoor State titles in 2015, 2016 and 2018.
After graduation Jackson took her considerable talents to Southeastern Louisiana University where she competed in track and field while earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Jackson continued her winning ways with the Lions. She was the 2022 Indoor Southland Conference Shot Put Champion and weight throw runner up. In the Spring of 2022, she won the Southland Conference Discus Championship and was an NCAA qualifier while finishing as a conference championship runner-up in the Shot Put and Hammer. In 2023 she was the Southland Conference runner up in the shot put in both the Indoor and Outdoor Conference Championships and was the Discus champion.
