Zachary High School Athletics continues to receive statewide recognition following another historic year, as several Bronco programs and student-athletes were named finalists for The Advocate's Star of Stars Sports Awards.

Senior standout Ava Raymond was recognized as a finalist for both Girls Basketball Star of the Year and Girls Athlete of the Year after an incredible season that helped lead the Lady Broncos to another state championship. Raymond's leadership, consistency, and impact on the court made her one of the top athletes in Louisiana this year.

The Zachary girls basketball team was also named a finalist for Girls Team of the Year after capturing another state title and continuing one of the premier programs in the state.

On the boys side, the Zachary boys basketball team earned recognition as a finalist for Boys Team of the Year following a championship season of their own. The Broncos capped off an outstanding year by bringing home the Division I Non-Select state championship and cementing themselves among Louisiana's elite programs.

The Star of Stars Sports Awards ceremony will be held Monday, May 18, 2026, at 6 p.m. at L'Auberge Event Center in Baton Rouge.

Congratulations to Ava Raymond, the girls basketball program, and the boys basketball program on these outstanding honors and for continuing to represent Zachary at the highest level.
