The 2025-26 school year added another historic chapter to Bronco athletics as the boys basketball team was named the Star of Stars Team of the Year, while standout guard Ava Raymond earned Star of Stars Female Athlete of the Year honors.
The recognition comes after a remarkable season for Bronco basketball that saw both programs continue to establish themselves among the premier teams in Louisiana. The boys team delivered a dominant campaign filled with big wins, postseason success, and another championship run that captured the attention of the entire state.
The Star of Stars Team of the Year honor reflects not only the team's accomplishments on the court, but also the culture, toughness, and consistency the Broncos displayed throughout the season. From opening night to the final buzzer of the year, the Broncos represented Zachary with pride and continued to raise the standard for excellence.
On the girls side, Ava Raymond added yet another major accolade to her incredible career by being named the Star of Stars Female Athlete of the Year. Raymond's impact extended far beyond the stat sheet as she helped lead the Lady Broncos through another outstanding season while cementing herself as one of the top athletes in Louisiana.
Known for her leadership, competitiveness, and ability to take over games in big moments, Raymond consistently delivered against elite competition throughout the year. Her recognition as Female Athlete of the Year highlights the work ethic and dedication she has shown while representing the Bronco program.
These honors continue what has been one of the greatest years in school history for Bronco athletics. Congratulations to our boys basketball team and to Ava Raymond on these well-deserved recognitions. #itsallabouttheZ
